A Cam Scam

Once again I read of a guy being scammed, this is not unusual and it has been going on since time began. When will these guys learn, do not part with money so easily on a "Promise"! Beware....

This scam is as old as the hils, UKPunting are fighting the good fight to rid Adultwork of fake profiles but they appear on every site involving "men seeking women". This one was scammed by a girl on a web cam site. I keep trying to tell people that it is NOT girls that scam you guys it is other guys who are doing the scam pretending to be girls. Be wary of any escort, swinger, cam girl asking for money up front before meeting.

I saw this camgirl on mfc and she was doing a 'meet me' auction on there. As she was relatively speaking near me I thought why not lets go for it, and put in a large amount of tokens for this. Now i (supposedly, i'll never know the truth of it now) lost by 25 tokens to someone else at that time. But got talking to her in PMs afterwards and eventually we arranged to meet separately

This conversation went on to Skype where she gave me her 'address' and I sent her gift money over paypal (a pretty large amount). I also spent a futher amount of money on train tickets.

So on the day I travelled late to get there (3 hour journey) only to find the address I had been given was fake, and because it was already so late I was stuck there overnight with no place to stay until the morning.

So be warned, this guy had not spoken to the girl in person but relied on text / pm messages. Here is your first warning. I am amazed that he can claim that she was close to him when he had to travel 3 hours by train, from Slough I can be in Manchester in that time, so hardly close.

Be careful out there.
